OLNEY FARMERS AND ARTISTS WINTER MARKET FEBRUARY 8, 2026

 YES, WE HAVE SNOW, ICE AND FRIGID TEMPERATURES!  BUT WE ARE OLNEY FARMERS MARKET STRONG!  WE’RE OPEN THIS SUNDAY, AS USUAL, JUST IN TIME FOR THE SUPERBOWL AND VALENTINE’S DAY.  AND YES, FREE ZEKE’S COFFEE AGAIN FOR THE FIRST 15 CUSTOMERS!

GRAB ‘N GO!  IT’LL BE A GRAB ‘N GO MARKET LIKE LAST SUNDAY.  PARK JUST OUTSIDE THE 108 DRIVEWAY OR JUST INSIDE THE PRINCE PHILIP DRIVEWAY ENTRANCE. THIS IS WHERE MOST VENDORS WILL BE LOCATED. THEN GRAB WHAT YOU NEED AND DRIVE OFF SAFELY!   PLEASE DO NOT PARK AT THE PROFESSIONAL BUILDINGS, AND WALK ACROSS THE SNOW AND ICE.  IT IS NOT SAFE! 

VENDORS EXPECTED THIS SUNDAY:  Sweet Tea & Cornbread, Tee Cee’s Boutique, W Shawl Studio, Orchard Breeze Meat farm, Living Lettuce, Zeke’s Coffee, Dangerously Delicious Pies,  Sharper Than Ever (knife sharpening - pick up and drop off only), Dimitri’s Olive Oil, Sides BBQ, DMV Empanadas, Stone Hearth Bakery, Manchester Mushroom Farm (including eggs), the Italian Pasta Shop,  and our Food Scraps vendor.

SPRINGTIME EVENTS:  The Market will host a first ever Potato Day on Sunday, April 26th.  We’re partnering with Olney Days for the first time for a special potato celebration.  There will be potato sack races and potato head decorating for children.  Our own Stuffed Potato, the Crepe Shoppe and other food vendors will be battling it out for prizes for the best potato-based creation.  We’re also inviting the community to bring their prized homemade potato dishes to our Chef’s tent at 11AM for judging.

Other events include a Strawberry Tasting and chef’s demo, a Peach Festival, a Pie Competition and 2 Kids in Biz days.  Our live music starts Mother’s Day.  

MAY 10TH:  GRAND REOPENING OF OUR SPRING SEASON.  We invite you to celebrate your Mom on Mother’s Day.  It’ll be a day full of surprises.  Just look for volunteers with Red Envelopes.

SOMETHING NEW:  The Olney Farmers and Artists Market Newsletter will soon accept a limited amount of advertising. We’ll offer special rates for non-profits.  For more information, email [email protected]

MARKET APPLICATIONS:  Get your application in now, if you’re interested in being a vendor for Spring/summer.   Applications are online at olneyfarmersmarket.com.  We already have a waiting list in several categories.

VENDOR ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING:  A reminder that our first meeting is tonight at 6:30pm at Lib’s Grill in Maple Lawn. 
VENDOR ALERT!   A reminder that all vendors are required to have weights of at least 25 lbs per leg, no exceptions!  In the event of strong winds, you will be asked to take down your tent.  This is for everyone’s safety.  Anyone who refuses to comply will be subject to termination.  We just can’t take any chances.  Thank you.

SNAP:  Yes, we take SNAP.   Anyone in need of food assistance during this cold snap should call 202 257 5326.  We’ll do our best to help.

LOST AND FOUND:  Has anyone seen a 25-foot yellow extension cord that was left on our site last Sunday?  Please email [email protected], if you have it. It belongs to our knife sharpener.

FOOD SCRAPS:  As part of a Montgomery County-sponsored pilot, Compost Cab will accept food scraps 
from our customers. Look for their tent in the rear of the Market.  You may drop off:

• Fruit and Vegetable scraps
• Cooked Food
• Meat, fish bones
• Dairy (cheese and yogurt)
• Eggshells
• Bread & Grains
• Coffee Grounds & Tea Leaves 

STAY SAFE AND STAY WARM!
PARKING IS ALWAYS FREE! (For Winter, vendors may leave at 1 instead of 1:10) There are 2 main lots, one outside the professional buildings on 108; the other opposite the Thrift Shop on Prince Philip.

DONATIONS WELCOME!   Please consider a donation to our 501-C-3, Friends of the Olney Farmers Market.  The Market provides vouchers for fresh produce to those in need.  This season, we’ve given out more vouchers than ever before. It would be great to replenish our fund.  We also need funds to support our music program and our children's tent.
