LET’S GET RIGHT TO THE POINT! KNIFE SHARPENING IS BACK (COURTESY OF BENCHMARK SHARPENING)! ALSO, THE THAW IS ON!  WARMER WEATHER IS FINALLY HEADED OUR WAY.

WHAT ELSE IS AT THE MARKET?  A new alternative to alcoholic beverages; eggs, poultry, steak, ground beef, sausage, butter, local mushrooms, hydroponic lettuce, microgreens, apples, red and white potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, garlic, broccoli, crepes, scones, Greek pastries, Greek olive oil, empanadas, Romanian gluten-free baked goods, homemade bread, croissant sandwiches, croque monsieurs, Peruvian stuffed potatoes, Haitian roti, spirits, coffee, Danish,  Jerk chicken, Indonesian chicken ‘n rice, BBQ, baked beans, potato salad, homemade fudge, local honey, sweet ‘n savory pies,  and lots more…

AT THE INFO BOOTH:  If you have questions about becoming a vendor, we have answers.  This week, just ask Maritza, our manager on call.  Or see assistant Manager Tracy (Tee Cee’s Boutique) in the pink tent.  You can also call Janet at 202 257 5326.  Also, this is the place to SNAP up Food Stamps.   And check out our newest Olney Farmers and Artists Market tote bags!

COMING ATTRACTIONS:  Our Spring season starts Mother’s Day.  We’re so excited that just about all of last season’s vendors will be returning. They include MacBride & Gill Falcon Ridge Farm,  Full Circle Farm, Westmoreland Farm, Pleitez Produce, Zeke’s Coffee, El Jefe Cocina, Harvest Moon Bake Shop,  The Egg Stop, The Crepe Shoppe, Ella’s Bake Shop,  Sweet Pea Pastries,  Spring Hollow Farm, Common Root Farm, and Thomas Evans plants and produce.  Also, we welcome the Cane Collective. Ezra and company will be selling non-alcoholic beverages, starting this Sunday. And starting in Spring, look for Tucker’s Pond and Predatory Plants!  Find out what makes these plants so special!

Coming Sunday, March 16th:  a special St. Patrick’s Day musical performance by Sticky G!

NO UNAPPROVED SOLICITATIONS PLEASE, either on the Market site or in our parking lots. 
 
FOOD SCRAPS: As part of a Montgomery County-sponsored pilot, Compost Cab will accept food scraps 
from our customers. Look for their tent in the rear of the Market.  You may drop off:
  • Fruit and Vegetable scraps
  • Cooked Food
  • Meat, fish bones
  • Dairy (cheese and yogurt)
  • Eggshells
  • Bread & Grains
  • Coffee Grounds & Tea Leaves (remove all filters)

​DONATIONS WELCOME!   Please consider a donation to our 501-C-3, Friends of the Olney Farmers Market.  The Market provides vouchers for fresh produce to those in need.  This season, we’ve given out more vouchers than ever before. It would be great to replenish our fund.  We also need funds to support our music program and our children's tent.  Checks can be mailed to PO Box 1787, Olney, MD 20830. We also accept donations at our Info tent.  

CUSTOMERS:  
  • Please do NOT remove barricades at our entrances and exits.  These are meant to keep all of us safe.  
  • In the event of dangerous weather conditions, we'll post our decision on whether to close on our website, olneyfarmersmarket.com and on Facebook.
  • ​NO PETS!  We ask that you leave your pets at home.  We allow service animals only.

  • NO DRIVING ON THE GRASS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.
  • Remember that every tent must have at least 25 pounds of weight per tent leg.  Thank you for your cooperation. 
  • APPLICATIONS are due now! We already have a waiting list, so get yours in now, if you want to be considered.  All new vendors must be juried.
