What might you find at the Market?  BBQ, brisket chili, hummus, empanadas, crepes, Indonesian curry, Danish, croissants, homemade bread, homemade tuna salad, fresh fish, cornbread, eggs, sausage, peanut butter, sweet potatoes, red and white potatoes, ground beef, poultry, butter, local mushrooms, apples, hot chocolate, hot cider, local honey, cookies, microgreens, gluten-free baked goods, vegan baked goods, Greek olive oil, balsamic vinegar, olives, tacos, fajitas, baked beans, croissant sandwiches, croque monsieurs, bread pudding, houseplants, and more…

TAKING A BREAK:  Louis' Sweets is off for the Winter; Flash Crabcakes is off this Sunday.

Special appearance by DriveEzMD: We're excited to welcome DriveEzMD to the Olney Farmers Market!  Stop by their table for helpful travel tips, free giveaways, and the opportunity to purchase E-ZPass transponders while accessing resources for getting around Maryland with ease.

SPRINGTIME EVENTS:  The Market will host a first ever Potato Day on Sunday, April 26th.  We’re partnering with Olney Days for the first time for a special potato celebration.  There will be potato sack races and potato head decorating for children.  Our own Stuffed Potato, the Crepe Shoppe and other food vendors will be battling it out for prizes for the best potato-based creation.  We’re also inviting the community to bring their prized homemade potato dishes to our Chef’s tent at 11AM for judging.

Other events include a Strawberry Tasting and chef’s demo, a Peach Festival, a Pie Competition and 2 Kids in Biz days.  Our live music starts Mother’s Day.  

MAY 10TH:  GRAND REOPENING OF OUR SPRING SEASON.  We invite you to celebrate your Mom on Mother’s Day.  It’ll be a day full of surprises.  Just look for volunteers with Red Envelopes. SNAP UP A RED ENVELOPE ON OUR WEBSITE, OLNEYFARMERSMARKET.COM OR IN PERSON AT THE INFO BOOTH BEFORE THE 10TH, THEN GIVE IT TO A MANAGER ON MOTHER'S DAY AND WIN A FABULOUS PRIZE FOR YOUR MOM.

ATTENTION VENDORS!  APPLICATIONS ARE ONLINE AT OLNEYFARMERSMARKET.COM. DON'T DELAY!  WE ALREADY HAVE A WAITING LIST.

VENDOR ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING:  The next meeting will be held the third Thursday in March in Ashton.  Time and place TBA.

 VENDOR ALERT!   A reminder that all vendors are required to have weights of at least 25 lbs per leg, no exceptions!  In the event of strong winds, you will be asked to take down your tent.  This is for everyone’s safety.  Anyone who refuses to comply will be subject to termination.  We just can’t take any chances.  Thank you.

Speaking of SNAP:  This week, ask for Charles at the Info booth for info about SNAP benefits.   Thanks to the State of Maryland and Montgomery County, we can help you and your family.
 
FOOD SCRAPS:  As part of a Montgomery County-sponsored pilot, Compost Cab will accept food scraps 
from our customers. Look for their tent in the rear of the Market. You may drop off:

• Fruit and Vegetable scraps
• Cooked Food
• Meat, fish bones
• Dairy (cheese and yogurt)
• Eggshells
• Bread & Grains
• Coffee Grounds & Tea Leaves (remove all filters)

STAY SAFE AND STAY WARM!
PARKING IS ALWAYS FREE! (For Winter, vendors may leave at 1 instead of 1:10) There are 2 main lots, one outside the professional buildings on 108; the other opposite the Thrift Shop on Prince Philip.

DONATIONS WELCOME!   Please consider a donation to our 501-C-3, Friends of the Olney Farmers Market.  The Market provides vouchers for fresh produce to those in need.  This season, we’ve given out more vouchers than ever before. It would be great to replenish our fund.  We also need funds to support our music program and our children's tent.
