Coming Attractions

Coming Sunday, March 16th:  a special St. Patrick’s Day musical performance by Sticky G!

Contest for Best Green Business at the Olney Farmers Market.  Green Olney is on the lookout for the greenest vendors at the market. We are evaluating our wonderful local businesses on these criteria:
  • Provides products in non-plastic bags/containers (recyclable materials)
  • Creates products using ingredients from local farms
  • Provides discounts for returning containers
  • Sets up at market with being “green” in mind (chalkboards to rewrite, QR codes, upcycles, no trash, reusable tablecloths, etc.)
  • Uses a limited amount of energy (only electricity when needed, preheated items, etc.)
  • Promotes/encourages concepts of reduce, reuse, recycle
We'll be at the Olney Farmers & Artists Market soon, sometime after the Mother's Day opening.

Food Scraps

As part of a Montgomery County-sponsored pilot,  Compost Cab will accept food scraps
from our customers.  Look for their tent in the rear of the Market.
You may drop off:

  • Cooked Food
  • Meat, fish bones
  • Dairy (cheese and yogurt)

Donations Welcome

Please consider a donation to our 501-C-3, Friends of the Olney Farmers Market.  The Market provides vouchers for fresh produce to those in need.  This season, we’ve given out more vouchers than ever before. It would be great to replenish our fund.  We also need funds to support our music program and our children's tent. Checks can be mailed to PO Box 1787, Olney, MD 20830. We also accept donations at our Info tent.
