The Return of Coop’s Soups: Cristin Cooper returns this Sunday with her vegan, gluten-free, and locally-sourced vegetable soups, including her best-selling flavor, Maryland Harvest! Be sure to ask Cristin about Coop’s Soups volunteer nights, where folks come together to cook soup, eat soup, and donate soup to Manna Food Center. HEROICS OF THE DAY: We salute 5 Market heroes this week, for coming to the rescue after two close calls. Safety and security manager, Doug Terry, spotted a giant, uncovered manhole, adjacent to our large parking lot, just before 9am. The hole was so deep, a child easily could have become trapped. Thanks to Doug and fellow Security manager Lenny Rosenberg, along with students Jeremy and Chris Romero Gonzalez, repairs were made just in time for our opening. We also thank Medstar Montgomery for its assistance. Also special thanks to Zeke's Coffee’s manager, who delivered the coffee promised for our Breakfast with a Cop event, despite a crash on the way. Thankfully, no one was hurt. Zeke’s should be back in action at our Market this Sunday. MUSIC AT THE MARKET: JEFF BURNETT JEFF BURNETT, a customer favorite, is back! Jeff is a singer and a guitarist who plays jazz, rock, reggae, country, and blues. You never know what style or decade of music the next song is coming from when he is on stage. Jeff prides himself on paying tribute to a wide variety of influences, while seasoning his performances with his own style and personality. Music starts at 10am. FARMERS
