IT’S OLNEY TIME!  ANYONE FOR CHESS?  OUR FIRST EVER TOURNAMENT FOR ALL AGES STARTS AT 10am.  NO REGISTRATION NECESSARY.   BREAKFAST WITH A COP! COFFEE ON US, AND A CHANCE TO MEET FACE TO FACE WITH LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT.  AND WHAT WE’RE DOING FOR FEDERAL WORKERS… THOSE ARE THE HIGHLIGHTS FOR THIS SUNDAY. NOW HERE ARE DETAILS….

MAKING HIS DEBUT:  A warm welcome to Mike Pfister, from PopPoww Snack Company.  Mike will be selling specialty sweet and savory popcorns and cocktail nuts, with all natural flavors.  Also the Stress Doc is in the house! The award winning author of ‘Where is Charlotte’ leads a magical singalong.

 

ATTENTION VENDORS!  Winter Applications are now online at olneyfarmersmarket.com. The new season starts the second Sunday in November.  Also, a SAFETY REMINDER: vendors must NOT move their vehicles until 1:10pm.  This is so we can safely clear out children first.  In an emergency, come to the Info booth.

LET’S BEAT BREAST CANCER:  Special thanks to Robina Barlow for organizing an amazing event last Sunday.  We are so appreciative of all your hard work and the hard work of the high school students who participated.
SPECIAL EVENTS THIS SUNDAY: The Olney Fun Run and Walk! Meet at the Market SUNDAY MORNINGS and get ready for some exercise.  For more info, go to goca.org    The Market will provide a reception tent on the grassy middle.

 CHESS TOURNAMENT FOR ALL AGES:  GRAND PRIZE IS $50.  Bring a chess set, if you have one.  Meet at the IT’S OLNEY MATH tent at 10AM.  Contact [email protected] if you have questions. 

 IT’S OLNEY TIME! We also welcome the non-profit organizations that make Olney tick.  Most will be located on the grassy middle in the café seating area.

GO will be doing a Terracycle Collection on the 26th at It's Olney Time. If people would like to bring the following items they've been saving, we will take them:
 
- Oral care products: old toothpaste tubes, dental floss containers, old toothbrushes
- Britta Filters
- Old Socks
- Old pens, magic markers, old mechanical pencils

BREAKFAST WITH A COP:  This is your chance to have an informal conversation with a Montgomery County police officer and enjoy coffee on us.  Head to the grassy middle, in the café seating area.


HELPING FEDERAL WORKERS:  Come to the grassy middle and ask for Janet.  We are offering free breakfast to those in need (up to $10.)   This is until the money runs out.

AT THE INFO BOOTH:  SNAP BENEFITS:  This Sunday, ask for Charles or Chris for info.  They’ll be located next to Tee Cee’s Boutique at the spot, where we usually have our Info booth. The Info booth will be on the grassy middle, as part of It’s Olney Time.
Plus, we’re raising money so we can keep you warm this winter in an Amish shed. Thanks for anything you can do!
                    
A REMINDER TO VENDORS AND CUSTOMERS:  OUR SMALL DUMPSTER IN THE REAR IS FOR MARKET TRASH ONLY.  SORRY, BUT WE DON’T HAVE THE CAPACITY TO HANDLE ANYTHING MORE.      
 FOOD SCRAPS:   
As part of a Montgomery County-sponsored pilot, 
Compost Cab will accept food scraps 
from our customers.

Look for their tent in the rear of the Market.You may drop off:

Meat, fish bones
Dairy (cheese and yogurt)

Eggshells
Bread & Grains
Coffee Grounds & Tea Leaves (remove all filters)

PARKING IS ALWAYS FREE! There are 2 main lots, one outside the professional buildings on 108; the other opposite the Thrift Shop on Prince Philip.

DONATIONS WELCOME!   Please consider a donation to our 501-C-3, Friends of the Olney Farmers Market.  The Market provides vouchers for fresh produce to those in need.  This season, we’ve given out more vouchers than ever before. It would be great to replenish our fund.  We also need funds to support our music program and our children's tent.
Checks can be mailed to PO Box 1787, Olney, MD 20830. We also accept donations at our Info tent.  You may also use the Donate button at the top of this newsletter.
