HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY, AND WELCOME TO THE GRAND REOPENING OF OUR SPRING/SUMMER MARKET!  SURPRISE YOUR MOM THIS SUNDAY WITH A BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED RED ENVELOPE!  DONATE JUST $20. TO OUR NON-PROFIT, AND SHOWER YOUR MOM WITH A GIFT WORTH MORE THAN $20.  AMONG THE ITEMS:  A $75. MARKET SHOPPING SPREE, BEAUTIFUL HANDMADE JEWELRY, A PEDICURE AT A LOCAL SPA, AND ONE-OF-A-KIND SCENTED CANDLES.   TO SNAP UP A RED ENVELOPE, HEAD OVER TO THE GRASS OUTSIDE THE THRIFT SHOP FRONT DOOR OR LOOK FOR A STUDENT VOLUNTEER. 

SPECIAL MOTHER’S DAY LAYOUT:  Many of your favorite vendors, including Dangerously Delicious Pies, Zeke’s Coffee and San Valentino Pizza, will be on the grass.  So be sure to visit the vendors on the grassy middle and on the grass outside the Thrift Shop front door.  Each area will feature Children’s activities like face painting, puzzle making, and Mother’s Day card making. 
KNIFE SHARPENING WILL ALSO BE IN A DIFFERENT LOCATION. GO TO THE INFO TENT FOR DIRECTION.

WHAT’S AT THE MARKET?  Lots of strawberries, ground beef, sausage, poultry, eggs, butter, greens, onions, garlic, broccoli, sweet potatoes, red and white potatoes, hydroponic lettuce, radishes, microgreens, crepes, local mushrooms, local honey, plants and freshly cut flowers, Bolivian empanadas, sweet and savory pies, Greek pastries, Greek olive oil, olives, balsamic vinegar, Jerk chicken, Indonesian pastel, Vietnamese dumplings, banh mi, fresh lemonade, Peruvian stuffed potatoes, homemade bread, croissant sandwiches, croque monsieurs, Danish, coffee,  iced tea, churros, hummus and pita, gyro sandwiches, gelato, vegan baked goods, gluten-free baked goods, Romanian stuffed cabbage, BBQ, potato salad and lots more...

HOLD THE DATES!
  • STRAWBERRY CHALLENGE MAY 25TH: Drop off your favorite, homemade strawberry creation at our Chef’s tent by 10:30, and let the judging begin!  We’ll also have a Farmer category.  Judges include Allison Weiss, executive director of the Sandy Spring Museum, the home of the giant Strawberry Festival coming up the first weekend in June.  Our own James Ricciuti will emcee.
  •  SLOW DOWN FOR SPEED DATING:   Click here and jot down the date, June 8th, if you’re tired of those expensive dating apps. The Market meadow could be the perfect setting to meet someone new. Sip on a little wine (or non alcoholic beverage); and munch on Market strawberries.  All proceeds benefit the Sandy Spring fire department, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary.
  •  KIDS IN BIZ DAY: JUNE 29TH - To sign up, email [email protected].  Also, we’re offering children the chance to be an apprentice to a vendor the Sunday before, June 22nd.  Among the participating vendors:  The Italian Pasta Shop.
 
NO UNAPPROVED SOLICITATIONS PLEASE, either on the Market site or in our parking lots. 

FOOD SCRAPS: As part of a Montgomery County-sponsored pilot, Compost Cab will accept food scraps from our customers Look for their tent in the rear of the Market. You may drop off:
  • Fruit and Vegetable scraps
  • Cooked Food
  • Meat, fish bones
  • Dairy (cheese and yogurt)
  • Eggshells
  • Bread & Grains
  • Coffee Grounds & Tea Leaves (remove all filters)

DONATIONS WELCOME! 
 Please consider a donation to our 501-C-3, Friends of the Olney Farmers Market.  The Market provides vouchers for fresh produce to those in need.  This season, we’ve given out more vouchers than ever before. It would be great to replenish our fund.  We also need funds to support our music program and our children's tent. Checks can be mailed to PO Box 1787, Olney, MD 20830. We also accept donations at our Info tent.

  • NO PETS PLEASE! We ask that you leave your pets at home.  We allow service animals only.

  • Customers:  Please do NOT remove barricades at our entrances and exits.  These are meant to keep all of us safe.
  • Note to Vendors:  Remember that every tent must have at least 25 pounds of weight per tent leg.  Thank you for your cooperation.
  • PARKING IS ALWAYS FREE! There are 2 main lots, one outside the professional buildings on 108; the other opposite the Thrift Shop on Prince Philip.
