HAPPY HOLIDAYS!  TODAY IS OUR HOLIDAY MARKET!
SPECIAL HOURS 11A TO 2P

LET’S CELEBRATE!  This Sunday is our annual HOLIDAY MARKET.  Don’t forget our hours will be 11a to 2p to coincide with a visit from Santa!

WHAT TO EXPECT?  Over 100 juried Crafters, Artists, Jewelers, Food Vendors and yes, Farmers too!
Look for one of a kind handmade items, including hand knitted mittens, scarves, pottery, woodwork, even hand-carved dining room tables, wreaths, homemade soap, stained glass, scented candles, children’s hats, gloves and beautiful jewelry.  Our artists row will be located near the professional buildings.  Also, be sure to check out the 25 or more vendors on the THRIFT SHOP GRASS. They include:  Zeke’s coffee, Dangerously Delicious Pies, Pachamama, Yia Yia Marika, and Ella’s Bake Shop.  Café seating will be in the middle.  Early Dawn (Jamaican) catering moves to the rear, while the Crepe Shoppe and Egg Stop will be up front, near Rare Opportunity (scones), Greek Superfoods, and Harvest Moon (homemade breads).

MUSIC AT THE MARKET
The One and Only Sticky G, led by Karen Norris

FARMERS INCLUDE: PENN FARM, M & M PLANTS AND PLANT MASTERS, COMMON ROOT (CERTIFIED ORGANIC), MACBRIDE & GILL FALCON RIDGE FARM, BIRDLAND PASTURES, THOMAS EVANS PLANTS AND PRODUCE, ORCHARD BREEZE, STONE FEATHER AND APPLE VALLEY FARMS.

AT THE CHILDREN’S TENT (located near Info in the rear):  Holiday face painting and Hanukkah and Kwanzaa related activities. Supervisors are Olivia and Mark.

WHAT ELSE?  What Holiday Market would be complete without S’MORES AND CHESTNUTS roasting on an open fire?  Thanks to Boy Scout troop 264 and their leader Jeffrey Strenkowski for taking the helm. Also thanks to Harris Teeter and Jane McCarthy for their donations. Chestnuts will be sold at the Info booth, along with Stone Feather Farm’s hot apple cider. Look for Nadine Mort for direction.

Other HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS:  The Medstar Montgomery Women’s Board hosts its special CHILDREN’S HOLIDAY SHOP inside the Thrift Shop.  The hours are 10 to 2. The event is exclusively for children (accompanied by an adult), so they can buy holiday gifts for family and friends.

A SPECIAL NOTE from Katherine Farquhar, director of the Blankets for Babies drive to help Ukraine.  Thanks to Lynn, Karen, Jackie and others for the 20 blankets donated at last week’s OFAM Info tent. Also thanks to our partners at the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral on New Hampshire Avenue.  UPDATE:  We continue to welcome blanket donations through mid-February.

La Table Du Chateau invites you to come by our tent for our Mulled Cider and  French Hot Chocolate that we created exclusively to celebrate the holiday season with you. Our hot chocolate will delight you, a delicious chocolatey base topped with whipped cream, mini chocolate chips, a toasted marshmallow and white chocolate drizzle. Our cider is mulled on site with an amazing blend of spices including cinnamon, cardamon, star anise for an hour and topped with fresh orange and cranberry for the perfect festive flavor. Both drinks are a phenomenal accompaniment to our delicious croissant sandwiches. Also check out our amazing spice and tea blends for fun and delicious stocking stuffers.

HOPE TO SEE YOU AT THE HOLIDAY MARKET THIS SUNDAY! HOURS 11A TO 2P

BLANKETS FOR BABIES

Thanks to so many OFAM shoppers and your friends for spreading the word and donating hand-crafted blankets (crochet, knit, quilt, felt and more) to Blankets for Babies, Comfort for Families.
We are winding down the project, with a final shipment to Kiev Ukraine on or just after "12th Night", which is January 7th.   In the meantime,  the 2nd to last shipment is nearly ready to go (at 50 blankets).    If you can help us boost our total this weekend or next, our partners at the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral can ship it by Thanksgiving!
We've heard from many folks that you're working on projects and will be crafting numerous blankets!  As the project ends in January, we'd love to send as many as you can send to us.
Please bring your donation (with your name and email) to the OFAM Info Booth any Sunday through January 6th.   Or, for pickup, leave a message for Katherine at 240 753 2121 (or kwfarq@cs.com) and let's schedule a pick-up.
The OFAM community has been amazing in your creativity and caring during this long project.   Your beautiful work has brought joy and warmth to hundreds of families through the shipments we've sent in these past two years.
